SHCORTY H17 (HYDROCORTISONE BUTYRATE USP 0.1% w/w) CREAM | 10g/0.35oz

Properties and indications:

Shcorty H17® cream – it is a potent corticosteroid on hydrophilic basis. It reduces exudative reaction and has anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, antipruritic and antiallergic action, and is intended for topical treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, such as:

• eczema;
• psoriasis;
• dermatitis;
• allergodermatoses;
• lichen planus;
• recommended for use in acute inflammatory conditions with weeping and subacute inflammatory conditions and lichenification

Release form:

cream for external use 10g/0.35oz

Composition:

• hydrocortisone butyrate USP – 0.1% w/w in hydrophilic cream base;
• perfume – q.s.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to substances of cream;
• pregnancy and lactation;
• bacterial infections of the skin (strepto- and stafiloderm,  gram negative folliculitis, etc.);
• viral skin infections (herpes simplex, varicella, herpes zoster, etc.);
• fungal infections of the skin;
• tubercular and syphilitic lesions of the skin;
• parasitic infection of the skin;
• neoplastic skin lesions (benign and malignant tumors);
• acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis;
• the post-vaccination period;
• violation of the integrity of skin (wounds, ulcers).

Side effects of the preparation

Local reactions: Rarely – skin irritation.

Systemic reactions: long-term use and / or applied to extensive surface of the skin are possible side effects that are characteristic for corticosteroids.

The risk of local and systemic side effects increases with prolonged use of the drug to large areas of damaged skin, when use of occlusive bandages.

Precautionary measures:

• do not use more often than was prescribed by your doctor;
• should avoid prolonged use of the preparation;
• in the case of infectious complications at the site of application of the preparation should be appointed antibiotic therapy;
• even after short-term use of the preparation in the skin of the face, may develop side effects: telangiectasias, atrophy (especially when existing atrophic changes in elderly patients), perioral dermatitis;
• during treatment should not to spend vaccination;
• when used in children aged 6 months and over for a long time, is necessary to control body weight, height, cortisol levels in the plasma.

Dosage and how to use:

• before use, consult your physician;
• apply in the affected skin 1-3 times a day. To improve the penetration, apply massaging movements;
• in the event of appearance positive result, applied from 1 to 3 times per week (maximum dose – 30-60 mg per week);
• in cases of resistance of the disease, for example, the localization of dense psoriasis plaques on the elbows, knees, the drug should be used under occlusive dressings;
• second course should be agreed with your doctor.
