Properties and indications:
Clindac A® – is an antibiotic which contains clindamycin phosphate 1.0 % and is intended for the topical treatment of comedones and acne:
The composition and release form:
gel for external use 15g.
Active ingredient:
Clindamycin Phosphate USP – 1.0 %.
Excipients: carbomer 941, methyl paraben, polyethylene glycol 400, propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide and purified water.
Contraindications:
Side effects of the preparation
Frequently: burning, itching, dryness, erythema and scaling.
Rarely: diarrhea, bloody diarrhea and cramps (including pseudomembranous colitis), stomach pain and gastrointestinal disturbances, gram-negative folliculitis.
Caution
Use of the gel leads to the absorption of the antibiotic on the surface of the skin.
Diarrhea, bloody diarrhea and cramps have been reported in several cases by using the gel.
Symptoms can appear after a few days, weeks or months after the beginning of clindamycin therapy.
They have also been observed duration up a few weeks after discontinuation of therapy.
If there is a diarrhea, should discontinue use this preparation.
